    MUKATA (Live Album)

    Audio + Video

MUKATA is the first solo album by Rebecka Aldana, Nicaraguan singer.

MUKATA means "near" in the indigenous language of Matagalpa, the city where Rebecka Aldana was born. The inspirations of Norah Jones, Sade, Billie Holidays, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles and James Brown mix in MUKATA to offer you a Soul musical journey fusing the vibes of funk, jazz & blues, to remember the fellow musicians we lost this year due to the pandemic.

The album, recorded live "unplugged" in Granada-Nicaragua, is inspired by Paul Breslin who wrote the music and lyrics of several "unedited" songs in collaboration with Geoffroy Vilbert, the band's saxophonist. Paul Breslin has been a writer and composer for Ray Charles, Eddy Louis and several other jazz & pop stars, since 2018 Paul now sings with the angels.
